Welcome to the website of the Cecilia International Choir.
Founded in 1975, we are one of the longest established English speaking mixed voice choirs in the area of South Holland. Until recently we were known as the British Choir. We are always looking for new members - so find out more in this website and then come and try us out.
Our concert schedule is available on this webiste and is regularly updated, together with information about how to find out more and book tickets. We are sure you will enjoy our performances.
Who we are..
We are a mixed group of four voices - Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass. We have around 80 members. We rehearse in English but welcome all nationalities.
We don't run auditions, and it is not even necessary to read music. We rehearse each Thursday evening in the British School, location at Diamanthorst 16, The Hague, from 1945 until 2200 hrs (for a map click here). We perform concerts four times per year.
Meet Malcolm Davies, our Conductor.

Malcolm gained his first diplomas, Licentiate and Fellowship of Trinity College of Music, London while he was at school in South Wales. He played viola in the National Youth Orchestra. In 1974 he gained a B.A. Hons. in music from Southampton University. Following this a grant from the Welsh Arts Council enabled him to study at the Royal Conservatory, The Hague where he gained a postgraduate degree in Choral Conducting. His doctorate is from the University of Utrecht. He has taught as an early music specialist at summer schools in France, England, Italy and Canada. He is the head of music at the International School of The Hague, and has conducted the Cecilia International Choir from its beginning. |
